Conditional formatting in pivot table disappears when selection criteria in report filter is changed

I have a pivot table where I specify that for any value <0, fill that entire cell red.
This works fine when the report filter criteria are all set to 'All"and the whole data set is displayed.
However, when I change any of the report criteria is view a sub-set
of the data, the fill disappears entirely.
I have applied the conditional formatting to the entire worksheet and all red fill disappears.
Any thoughts?

I could not get that to fix; however, this did work:
 
-left click the top cell in the data column
-push the cursor to the top of the cell until it turns to a down arrow
-left click
-the column of data is selected and maintains the formatting when the selection criteria is changed

Open Action Center by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, clicking Review your computer's status.

Make sure your computer has at least the minimum amount of random access memory (RAM) required to run the program that is displaying the error. Look for the program requirements online or in the packaging information.
