Boot & Shutdown performance monitoring not logging in Event Viewer. How to resolve?
Trying to troubleshoot applications that are hanging at shutdown.
I'm checking Event Viewer>Applications and services logs>Microsoft>Windows>Diagnostics-Performance.
But there are only logs there from 21/01/11.
Nothing has been logged since that date.
Is there a service or something that i need to enable to get it logging boot and shutdown performance monitoring again?

You can see reports of hanging programmes in the Applications log in Event Viewer.
However, these are recording a symptom and not the cause of the problem. They occur when there is a demand for memory or CPU capacity and there is insufficient available
to meet that demand or the process has a low priority and is not immediately processed.
The Event Viewer reporting does not record this type of problem as it is mainly concerned with reporting errors.
Don't Download Malware
Where are you getting the download?
There are malicious people who download valid copies of a popular download, modify the file with malicious software, and then upload the file with the same name. Make sure you are downloading from the developer's web page or a reputable company.
Don't install download manager
Many sites suggest or require you to install an installer or a download manager before allowing you to download a program you may be interested in downloading. Cancel or deny any automatic download
Some sites may automatically try start a download or give the appearance that something needs to be installed or updated before the site or video can be seen. Never accept or install anything from any site unless you know what is downloading.
