Solution to Problem: Annoying - Browser windows expand on their own

Annoying - Browser windows expand on their own

I often view a page in a browser (this happens with IE 8 as well as Firefox) then right click on a video to view in another window, and move that to the right, so I can continue reading while the video runs.
Once I reduce the size of the right window to
a certain degree, suddenly, on its own, the left window  expands over the entire page.
Is there any way to stop that behavior?
Thanks for any help

Hi sjkm,

a) The left Window expands on its own, but does the left window browser come up instead of the one you want to see?

This is by design in Windows 7.
This feature is called aero snap.

Snap is a quick (and fun) new way to resize open windows, simply by dragging them to the edges of your screen.

Depending on where you drag a window, you can make it expand vertically, take up the entire screen, or appear side-by-side with another window.

For more information, refer:

Snap

If you find it annoying and you want disable this feature, you may perform the below steps.

To disable the Aero Snap feature, begin by clicking on Start and then enteringEase of Access Center into the
Search Programs and Files PressEnter .
Not surprisingly, you should now be looking at the Ease of Access Center , which is a central location for all ease of access options available in Windows 7.
At the bottom of the list is an option titledMake it Easier to Focus on
Tasks .
Click on this option and you will be looking at theMake it Easier to Focus on Tasks window.
Near the bottom of the window, you will see an option titled Make it Easier to Manage Windows .
Under this option, check the box titledPrevent Windows from Being Automatically Arranged When Moved to the Edge of the Screen
.
