Backup states it is in progress constantly.

After a backup restore from an ISO made a day previous my icon in the notification area and back up in the ctl pnl both insist a "backup in progress".
While I don't believe this is the case I can't seem to halt or reset backup to cease the notification.
Any ideas?
The backup worked to a "T" with this exception.
It has been 3 days now.
The backup drive is an internal HD.
Win 7 Home prem.
I looked in task mgr and could find nothing that indicated that backup was running a process or service.
That could of course be
my ignorance of what to look for.
