1) Laptop shuts down when hibernating 2) Windows Explorer stop responding when inserting USB, resuming from sleep/hibernate
Hi guys, this is my first time posting, sorry for any mistakes made.
Please advise me to give any information that you need.
I have 2 problems with my Acer laptop 3820TG-624G64n.
The below is the specifications for my laptop:
i7 620M (2.66GHz), 4GB ram, 640GB HDD, ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650, Windows 7 Home Premium
1) Whenever I close my lid, my laptop is suppose to hibernate.
However when hibernating for around 20-30mins, it will shut down abruptly.
When I resume by pressing the power button, the system powers on like it has been shut down and shows the options
"Start windows normally".

C:\Windows\Minidump\051311-22916-01.dmp
C:\Users\Darrel\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-77828-0.sysdata.xml
2) Around 60% of the time when I
a) plug in a USB
b) when I resume from sleep/hibernate
c) when I plug out USB
the explorer.exe on my laptop will stop responding and the whole laptop gets really slow until I manage to click on "Restart Windows Explorer".
And this problem is intermittent and does not happen all the time.
I followed a guide on how to make a .dmp save
file when encountered an error.

I have been updating my drivers to the latest version according to Acer Singapore website, but nothing has been solved.
Problem 1) is a newer problem that did not exist in the past, only recently.
My assumption is, it is due to either Windows Update or
driver update, but more on Windows Update.
I remember seeing the Windows Update for systems that have a TB hdd and resuming from sleep/hibernating would cause problem.
I had that patch/fix installed if I am not mistaken.
Please advise what are the next steps I can take to further troubleshoot the problems or the direct solutions.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
D.
