Troubleshoot:Add to Favorites on toolbar disabled Error

Add to Favorites on toolbar disabled

Add to Favorites on my toolbar is disabled.  There is a minus sign through it.  It creates a shortcut instead of adding the site to my Favorites list.

Have you recently changed some settings for Internet Explorer?
2.
What happens if you right click on the Internet Explorer toolbar and uncheck and then check "Favorites Bar" option?
3.
Have you by any chance assigned a folder for organizing the favorites?

I would suggest you to reset Internet Explorer settings and then check.
To reset the settings automatically, click the
Fix this problem button or link.
Click Run in the

If you failed to fix it, another option is to call Microsoft and walk through the process with a technician. To do this, dial "1-800-936-5700". Explain the error that you received and the steps in the update process during which it was displayed. The technician will be able to walk through the steps from getting a new product key to finishing the installation.
