Change Default "Save As" Format for Existing Documents

Is it possible to change the default format in the drop down box of the "Save As" dialog when using "Save As", as opposed to just "Save"? Word is clever enough to detect the kind of document it is trying to "Save As" and chooses the appropriate type.
However,
I want to force Word to always "save as" a specific format.
Again, this is for an existing document that one would copy using the "Save As" command.

The solution is to create a macro that sets the format as it opens the Save As dialog.
As an example, to save the current active document (of any kind) as a .docx file, you can use this macro (see
