Data table on chart is either not positioned directly under the data points, or there are two sets of labels__

I have a SIMPLE x-y line chart to which I've added a data table.  Immediately upon adding the data table, there are two sets of horizontal axis labels.  If I delete the set that's not part of the data table, the data table shrinks some and moves off to the
right.  This causes none of the labels and values to be located under the points on the chart that they represent. 

WTH????
Anyone else had any similar issues.
Just my opinion, but Excel 2007 is a POS!!!!!!!!  I have ceased being productive at work by trying to tackle the ridiculous learning curve set about by "upgrading" to this garbage.  What's really sickening is the amount of money my employer paid for this ____!!

I spent the last 2 hours trying to find this answer and could not find a post with the answer....but on another post I did get an idea and think I have figured it out.
 
Do your chart with the data table and WITH the horizontal axis.  Instead of deleting the axis...instead go to the "format axis"...make sure you have the horizontal axis seleted.  You might have to add the horizontal axis back in to do this if you already
deleted it like I did.
On the format options...axis options tab...under the Axis Type: selet the radio button for Text Axis!!!!
This alligned my data table under the correct bar charts.

If you failed to fix it, another option is to call Microsoft and walk through the process with a technician. To do this, dial "1-800-936-5700". Explain the error that you received and the steps in the update process during which it was displayed. The technician will be able to walk through the steps from getting a new product key to finishing the installation.
